Branding and design for a company specializing in the field of baking. The design concept was based on the scientific precision and perfectionism required of the pastry chef, in contrast to the sensuality and spontaneity expressed by the "messy" dirty dishes and work area.

Creating a contemporary brand identity for MTR, an authentic Indian food brand with ambition to export. MTR was created by a celebrated Indian restaurant selling its own successful range of dried foods, curry sauces and chutneys. Scandinavian company Orkla Foods bought this hugely popular local brand and asked us to modernise and harmonise its vast range of over 200 SKUs.
The first bite is with the eye so we used high quality, richly colourful, contemporary food photography on a clean, white canvas for universal visual impact and appetising appeal. The reliably familiar red and white brand marque works with the sharper, new brand identity elements to unite the entire range, whilst the porcelain-white background guarantees clear product differentiation in any language or culture. This much-loved local Indian brand has bravely ventured abroad without losing any of its authenticity.

Following the creation of a new brand identity for Yeo Valley in June – leveraged by the runaway success of the ‘Yeo Valley Rap’ TV advertising - Pearlfisher has developed the identity and packaging for a new range of Yeo Valley Big Pots launching this week.
The identity – encapsulating the Yeo Valley name within a milk droplet – represents Yeo Valley’s status as an emerging icon within the world of dairy. The design is driven by the brand logo, which is hero on pack and highlights the Big Pots as being at the heart of Yeo Valley's yogurt offer. The photography portrays each single flavour and highlights the organic and natural qualities of the product.
As Jonathan Ford, Pearlfisher Creative Partner comments, "We have loved working with Yeo Valley from the start. The client commitment to stand for something (dairy) and to create something truly different with a bold and brave new identity has certainly paid off. The fantastic TV ad, with the identity at its heart, truly shows how challenger design and behaviour can set brands on an iconic path. The ad is driving phenomenal traffic to - and sales for the brand - which will surely continue to grow as more products, such as the new Big Pots, strengthen the brand portfolio.”
Ben Cull for Yeo Valley comments, “We are thrilled with the new graphic design for the Yeo Valley Big Pots. The design hero’s the new identity and drives forward Yeo Valley’s yogurt offer, highlighting the products’ natural and organic ingredients.”
Yeo Valley Big Pots are available in three product ranges - Whole Milk, Fat Free and Greek Yogurt - from all leading multiples and independent grocery retailers nationwide.

BrandOpus have created a new brand identity and packaging design for Pipers Crisps Co. The Lincolnshire based company approached BrandOpus looking to reinforce the perception of Pipers as the tastiest crisp brand in Britain by discovering what makes the brand unique, allowing Pipers to own the ‘out of home’ crisp market. Pipers pride themselves on the artisan, handmade crisps that they have been supplying the most discerning outlets with for the past eight years. Pipers wanted to underline their passion for making crisps, and tasked BrandOpus to develop a bold and assertive identity and pack design which reflects the honest, straightforward ideals of the company.
BrandOpus, who were appointed to work with the brand in October 2011 following a two-way pitch, recognised that to differentiate the multiple award-winning company from the competition, Pipers needed to have a role on the pack above and beyond the product itself.
BrandOpus differentiated the brand, drawing out the unique, quirky elements that that make Pipers recognisable and distinctive. Specifically the agency developed the brand name to Pipers Crisp Co. to make it more ownable, placing the logo at the focal point of the pack to drive the presentation. The Piper was established as the quirky masthead, and now anchors the brand into the natural and rural provenance of the crisps.
BrandOpus developed a colour palette for the brand, which allows clear navigation across the portfolio, making it easier for the loyal consumer to select their favourite flavour, and allowing standout that encourages new consumers to buy the brand. The flavour descriptors across the range of seven variants were updated to focus on origins, illustrating just how much care and attention has gone into sourcing the tastiest flavours possible.
The revamped Pipers packs are available now from over 1400 of the best outlets throughout the UK, and the refreshed brand identity will be rolling out shortly across the website and other brand touch-points.
